Williams ECU

Does anyone know if the Williams 2 and Williams 3 ECU is the same/different? Can a Williams 2 ECU be put an a Williams 3 and vica-versa?

I think that there is only on ecu for all williams...
Try comparing its part-number

willy ecu:
S101 262 107 HOM7700 864 272

if your swapping ecus off a car with an immobiliser then it wont work unless you can get the old immobiliser code out of the ecu.

and dont forget the willy 3 has abs too (sacriledge)...dunno if it will make a dif runnin an ecu equipped for abs on a car that hasnt got it or not.but i know u cant do it the other way round, i.e non abs ecu on a car with abs

on older vehicles the abs isnt linked to the injection so it shouldnt be a problem.

So, if the immobiliser is seperate.. you can swap between all 3?

if its got a renault immobiliser you will need the decoder and the plip keys as well as the ecu off the doner car.

I didnt think Williams did tho.. thought they had the aftermarket Cobra? Which no one uses cus its terrible, heh.

iv swapped willy 2 chipped with std willy2 ecu n it worked fine..same chipped ecu on rhys willy 3 wouldnt work, apparently because of the abs.......

Would just like to point out that ALL Williams ecus are the same and will work on any of the series.
ABS doesnt make a difference.

The ABS has its own ECU to control the brakes.....But might be tied in electronically somewhere.

The alarms on all Williams were aftermarket standalone units, and not tied into the ECU.

I think Daz found out that the Willy 3 ECU was infact different to the others...dunno if it was because of the ABS or not???

Maybe the abs sensor is connected to ECU someother way, and the 1 and 2 ECU wasnt design to do that...

Then again I could be talking bare crap???
