willy clutch gearbox

My mate has buggered his williams what do you guys reckon clutch or gearbox?

No forward motion

Clutch pedal is fine

Selects all gears fine with no noises

No metal swarf in the box as the gearbox oil has been dropped

Both driveshafts are OK



Whats most likely?

Can he reverse? If yes, then clutch is ok, if no, then its the clutch. Im no mechanic though.

could be the diff

it could be the clip for the diff, if u take n/s driveshaft out u will see it usualy lose drive it ifs snapped

Its definately selecting gears? The linkage to the gearbox hasnt come a cropper has it.

Just a thought.

Personally im thinking diff or box, are they made out of chocolate or what another mate has been through 2 or 3 when he had a valver.

Williams box (jc5) is stronger than the valver box (jc3) in general terms, Id be guessing at the diff or the clutch/mechanism (bearing/arm etc)
