Windscreen Query

Can someone just clear up a quick bet me and my mate have got going....

On the 2003 model clio there is a gap in the middle of the widscreen at the bottom, where there is no tint. Please can someone tell me what the cut out square is for.

For toll usage on French motorways.

Card sits there and gets scanned as you pass.

Dartford tunnel use something similar too - someone on here can confirm.

On mine its where my GPS antenna sits

Actually, in the manual I got with my 182 it claims the cut out is simply for adhering parking tickets. Theres half a page worth of information about it. I have heard its for Sat Nav also.

Its a part of the windscreen where the anti glare isnt fitted so you can fit items which need unrestricted access ie toll road devices or in the case of the Uk aftermarket say nav stuff.

The normal Renault sat nav works though the an aerial in the back of the car nothing to do with the space on the windscreen.
