Windscreen Stonechips?

I know the standard answer will be 'ring your insurer' but they aren't open now!
I've got 4/5 chips in my windscreen after the last couple of days, so wanting to get them filled in, do I just call AutoGlass and that's it?

What happens with insurance, do they do it all? Is it really free, or does it end up as a claim?!

I'm with Sky, but never had chips before so no idea what to do!

Cant help with most of this. But my Dad's windscreem cracked on his 3 series last week. Got it all done through insurance, paid his £70 or whatever excess.

Afterwoulds, his insurer (Admiral) tell him he has to declare it as a claim for the next 5 years. Nice one Admiral! c***s.

When i had my chips repaired i called them up and they checked if my insurance company was covered. It was, so the guy came and sorted it and that was it.

Same again for my windscreen replacement but i had to pay the 70/75 pound excess fee.

I have a scratch from my windscreen wiper, is this the same principle for me? Will they replace the windscreen for £70 how does it work?

Im not sure about that mate! Mine was 2 chips that joined together and turned into a crack so had to be replaced.

If your covered, you could always just crack your screen and say it was a stone chip, but thats got nothing to do with me :p

Wouldn't have posted here if I was gonna do that dude, as Sky will probably see it anyways!

Doesn't affect your NCB (in most cases) but technically it is a claim. Insurers don't do it for free out of the kindness of their hearts. If you go to insurance comparison sites you will see Windscreen repair / replacement as a claim you have to fill out.
