Windscreen vs pheasant

Driving to my mothers this morning and came round a corner to find a pheasant in mid flight right in front of me , BANG !!!!!!!!! .
Hit the lower middle part of the windscreen , windscreen f**ked :banghead:

lol i did this with a pheasent who decided to hit my front bumper an managed to crack the whole front bumper on me old mk1.

Oof! Ben, sorry to hear that! Pheasants are so effing dumb. They just don't understand to fly out of the way of bigger, faster-moving things!

I used to work for a windscreen replacement company, check your policy cos it'll have a windscreen excess on it if it's fully comp. You'll have to pay the excess which should be £50 or £60. If it's TPFT you'll be looking at a lot more than that cos of the heat reflective coating on the screen.

Happened to me last year. Had two nice feet marks up the bonnet and it took out my wipers. The car behind me had seconds dibs as it landed on it's roof! Stoopid damn birds! If they lost a bit weight, they'd be able to get airborne quicker.

Lol doesn't look as bad as I'd feared, but still. I wouldn't even want to pay £50 or £60 for a pheasant if it was cooked by Gordon Ramsey, so paying that much after one broke my windscreen.... put it this way, I'd make sure it was dead.

sounds pretty scary! I was on the A3 once and this Saab was infront - all of a sudden i saw this pheasant or some other large bird shoot up into the air off the front of his windscreen, his windscreen was trashed and he was still doing about 80. Very lucky not to have stacked it. I hit an owl once, but not in the same league!

Damn, Looks like quite a hit. I notice from the pics you have a sort of tint with a hole cut out in the middle of the screen (the film - not window), Is it normal on all clios, or have you done it yourself? as ive just got my clio.

Was just on the Renaultsport Clios I think. At least it was on the 182ff, I'm not actually 100% sure on the 172/182 Cup. The screen has a heat reflective coating: you can tell by the purply colour of the screen when you look at it from the outside.

I didnt stop to pick it up coz there were about 6-7 cars behind me but what a bang , the fat little c**t !!!!!!!!!!!!
Another question for you guys is see when i get the screen replaced coz its a fancy screen will the company that fit the screen know this or will they just stick any old screen in ?

Its only illegal if your caught by a law enforcement officer who happens to be patrolling with someone from the RSPCA

Have they got the right one? If they're anything like the windscreen replacement firm I used to work for they'll have a little book with codes in, which correspond to your rough model (i.e. mk2 Clio). Then they'll have a selection of windscreens that fit and you'll have to tell them which is the right one. Easy enough process, but the amount of times the suppliers send the wrong ones...:banghead:
