Windscreen wipers - where did they go

  R26

Driving along the road (motorway) to work in the pissing rain this morning and what happens! The windscreen wipers stop working. FFS! Luckily I managed to pull over though it was like what I imagine driving on 12 pints and some LSD. Anyway, kept moving the lever - nothing. So turned the car off and back on again and bobs yer fkn uncle - they start working.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so will it keep re-occuring in which case I need a roll cage, nappies and a crash helmet  or is it just a freak occurance.

Your thoughts please.

The car is only 1 month old and have done 3000 miles.

Im new to Cliosport and before joining I posted the following on the Renaultsport forum. Its not the same fault but relevant to wiper problems.

Had my 182 for a few weeks everything brilliant. - BUT - On a dual-carriageway, at the weekend, doing 70ish with wipers on full speed in heavy rain and the drivers wiper just stopped. Managed to pull in to a lay-by, luckily traffic fairly light and called the AA. It was only the nut loose holding the arm on (there are 2 on the drivers side). I advise everyone to check the tightness of this nut as it could have been disastrous.

my car did this all the time, had the AA patrols out numerious times to sort it...at first Renault told me it was a faulty connection to the motor which they resoldered and this solved it for a bit but then it started again..AA patrol then told me the bushes in the motor were sticking, had the motor changed in renault under warranty and touch wood its been fine

Had the same problem with the loose wiper arms. Took it to Renault and they sorted it straight away without any wait (thats what they told me in the ambulance after I had fainted anyway ;-)

Not sure if this is the same issue but could be related...

  Full Fat 182 - Was..

EVERYONE!

GO OUT AND BUY RAIN AWAY AND TREAT YOUR WINDSCREEN

(also helps with frost and mist in the mornings)
