Windscreen wipers...

OK, I know its my fault for going to ahem..Halfords for em last year, but I got the "recommended" size blades (front and rear) and they were longer than the ones allready on there.

Now, my idea of recommended doesnt involve 1/4 of each blade missing the glass cos its too long and therefore doesnt hold to the curve of the glass.... Anyways, as they are in need of changing, anyone got views on decent blades to get? these ones were Bosch ones on now.

I know its a daft post really, but dont you just hate it when your "new" blades dont move all the water/cack from the screen, almost dangerous at times if its chucking it down. Anyway, sure you lot have got views on every part of a clio so this might even get to be an interesting post

well, i might try them again, just the one at the mo, on passenger side doesnt hold to the glass, same as the rear one, when i use it it misses the top 3 inches of the glass....

Dont know bout cutting it tho, its on the metal frame so might look cack.

lol...jsut replaced the drivers side one.

It was a Bosch spoilered one which are so overated and crap. Jsut got a plain halfords one, and its about 1" shorted at the edges! lol!!!

still, its clears water, all i care about! hahaha

Renault will do perfect replacements surely?

Yeah it may well be £30, twice the price of Halfords but at least it will work!

£30!! your having a giraffe my friend..I am back in the lowely devisions of tax evasion, ie a student (again) and cant be paying that!! Just spent £80 last week on front pads and oil and filter change.

(BUT I did have a wicked time at Alton Towers on Wednesday, so it was worth it!!!)

I use PJ branded blades which have a spoiler for both sides 21" and they cost me £14. I hate the bosch ones they just do not last that long and cost alot for what u get. If u need the part number for the PJs let me know.

There was a product review of windscreen wipers in Autoexpress. Check the website should be on there.. the obscure brands seem to do the best over the likes of Bosch!

thanks guys, never heard of PJ ones before?, isnt 21" a bit long? I thought the ones I had were 18" and they are too long, might be wrong tho.

Ill have a look on Autoexpress cheers Clare

Ive got the Bosch wiper blades of my Clio and they fit perfectly. Good quality as well. Nice and quiet and shift all the crap. I recently bought some for my other run around (1991 Ford Escort Estate) and, again, no problems! You mustve bought the wrong wipers mate!

my standard blades used to miss some of the top on the back window, think its just down to the shape of the glass.

Bit wierd if it is doin it on the front tho!

I didnt cos I specifically checked the part numbers in halfords "handy" little guides for it. I think i preferred the smaller ones i had when i bought the car, at least they cleaned it properly!

You might wanna try the brand Valeo, these are the original wipers:sleep: and they should be available in the UK at Halfords. Bosch are real expensive 27 Euros, around 15 to 20 Pounds. :D

Blade rubbers are a good idea, just replaced my rear wiper blade, cost only a few bob :) and its very eezzy :D
