I think you may have some sap or something on the screen.

Vinegar, it softens up the rubber and brings them back to life.

agreed with the above comment the one bout the vinegar, done it to my rear one the other day as it was gettin brittle, sorted no more funni noisies

Try wipping the blade a few times with a cloth with some viniger on it.
