Wired up my rear fog lights!

  ?
Dont know if this is the right section... but oh well.

As was mentioned in a previous thread, if your clio has a space for both rear fog lights but only one works then it is possible to wire it up so both work.

So anyone who wants to wire it up like I did, it takes about 5-10 mins and looks so much better!

Firstly, Take the rear light covers off, and feed a wire through the bumper from the left side of the lights to the right.

Then, solder as shown in the photo... and thats it basically.

Thats a long winded way of doing it, the wires are already in the loom, all you need to do is peel the insulated cover back fish it out, and connect it to the spare pin in the plug.

Thats certainly the case for the Mk2 lights so I assume its the same on those mk1,s

All of the wires are on the connector, all six wires, the fog light just doesn't work as there is no current to the wires.

Well, when i did it my Ph1 car with Ph2 lamps, all the wires were in place except the one that went to the plug on the nearside light unit. I pealed the loom and found the wire, plugged it in, job done.

cat171 said his Ph1 V6 had the wires in place they were just not live,

Your car is a ph1 with ph1 lights so they should be the wiring should be the same as mine.

So I was trying to find out if there was a pattern of how these cars are wired..

  ?
Oh my ph1, all the wiring was present (same on both sides). but there was no current to thefog light (left) on the metal bit.

Sure it works, but if you ever want to update to the Ph2 lights, you will have to do it all again. Good effort though, glad to see you soldered them ;)

How do I get the other fog light to work on my PH2 lights Brian?

Bear in mind my car is a ph1 with ph2 "rewired" rear lights/bulb holders...

Check if the pink wire is in the connector on both sides. If it is you can:-

Either connect them together across the car like afroahmed did (just join the wires)

Or you can look at the back of the fuse box under the passenger glove box and join the pink wires at the back of fuse 23

If there is no pink wire on the connector on the nearside lamp, you can either run the wire from the offside to the pin on the nearside
OR :
Fish the wire out of the loom behind the nearside trim panel.
