wireless connection trouble

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk1
bought a new toshiba laptop recently with centrino wireless technology. Setup on home network with netgear wireless router.

I can start the laptop and log on to the wireless for internet without problem and connection never drops off. If i shutdown and restart or restart get back on network fine.

But if I let the laptop hibernate or I manually ask it to hibernate then when I come back to the laptop the wireless connection has gone and only restarting the laptop reconnects.

Ok no hardship but there must be a setting somewhere to stop this happening?

Someone help please!

Check the properties of the network adapter itself. Somewhere in there will be a setting that says 'allow this device to turn off to save power' Untick that and see if it helps.

Simple - switch that 110% useless hibernation feature off! :)

Control Panel -> Power Options -> Hibernate tab -> Untick Enable hibernation button.

You use a PC or you don't. Why such pointless turd is put into an O/S is beyond me.

**** - when did you get the 182, Cyber?! ****

hibernation is great if your on the move a lot as it doesn't use any battery to keep alive unlike standby.
