wireless cutting out

i got a wireless router ( bt 2100 i think)and wireless card in my laptop when i first got it was fine but recently i lose my connection with the router for few secs then its back on, only really notice cos it signs me out of msn.anyway to stop this happening, im only bout 5 foot from router so dont think receptionis a problem

Check the router settings / card settings for things like: "logout if idle for..." etc...

If that's not the problem, then reset the router (save all your setting in case).

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling, and re-installing the driver for your wireless card.


My Belkin router is a pain in the arse... and it doesn't like being left on.

Every so often, I need to reset it - it's just a hardware problem which I'm accustomed to....

my laPtop card is belkin il check things later ....doesnt do it that often but could see it being a prob if i was downloading something big..

Yep Bellskin suck length, had 2 routers from them and they are both Gay, got a 28quid wireless router/modem/firewall and had no problems since...lol

Although my PCI card is Bellskin

Wireless phones interfere with them as they were doing in the office in work.

You can try switching channels and setting the channel manually which seems to be working for us in work.

i dont rate belkin very well, their rane is piss poor, i use a 3com office conneect router/firewall and 2 laptops with 3com cards and the range is great, never ever drops, customer service is top $ as well, when i first got mine i thought it was faulty but it ended up being the ethernet card i bought, they sent me a new router and didnt even want the other one back!
