Wireless internet problem

the mrs just got her new laptop, which we have set up to run on my wireless network @ my house.

connects fine, but then after about 10 mins it looses connection and you have to go in and reconnect to the wirelss network.

any ideas why this is? its Packard Bell laptop, running XP and connecting to my Linksys network. i know its not the BB connection as my desk top is running fine and never drops connection.

any help would great, cheers

Try looking at your client lease time and set it as high as it will go, on the Linksys gear it'll probably look something like this

mine is set to 0 , which indicates 1 day?

just seems to be the laptop which is having problems, my desktop PC that i have the Linksys USB adaptor on is fine.

any other suggestions? any settings on the actual laptop that could be causing it?

hmmm i need to look at the wireless settings on my laptop then, give me about 15 minutes bud, i'll see if anything obvious leaps out at me.

If its in the same room as the router does it do it? i know i have a router upstairs and sometimes struggle on the level below, if thats causing problems have a look in your routers settings again and make sure that the wireless connection speed is set to auto, if i have mine fixed at 54Mps and the signal drops it can lose connection. Other than that im struggling im afraid.
