Wireless Laptop Problem

  Hondata'd EP3 Type R
Hi, I've got a desktop compter with a linksys wireless router. I use this so My Dell Inspirion 1501 can acces the internet. I've never had any problems with it, I literally took it out the box and it connected.

My Dad however, been the stupid so and so he is, took it on holiday with him, and tried to connect to other peoples wireless networks (naughty i know) However, he is home now and it wont connect, he says he changed some number, but dont know which ones. I'm illiterate when it comes to computers, as I say i jus ttook it out the box and connected to the net. I dont knwo what to do to get it to work again, he has really pissed me off messing when he hasnt got a clue, I'm gonna stop him using it.

Anyway, anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance.

He is talking about a reset on the router, which you dont need as your dad didnt take your router lol..

you need to double click the little icon that looks like a computer with waves comming out of it at the right side of your start bar and click search for wireless networks.

Also, check there isnt a wireless on/off button or switch on your laptop !!

He may have changed your IP address to a static one.

He may have turned off your wireless card

He may have reset your WEP key from you saved wireless networks [assuming your wirless network is encrypted]
