Wiring help

I've just got myself a new light thinking it would be a piece of pish to fit, only to find myself scratching my head now!

I'm struggling to see where the switch live goes? The new light fitting only has live neutral and earth terminals, nowt for L1.

Any ideas? I would GUESS it goes down the neutral, but I'm only guessing.

the switch line goes into the fitting

the perm line goes into a connector to make sure the rest of the lights still work
