wobble in wheels?

  MK2 PH2 & E46 330
just looking at wheels here and there.

one seller described the wheels he has have a wobble in them?

"When i had the tyres fitted and balanced, the fitter said there was a slight 'wobble' on one of the wheels, and a very very very slight wobble on another and he recommended that i put these wheels on the rears - but he said this would not affect the mot and would not affect the driving/performance of the car. I will indicate the wheel which has the larger 'wobble' but i did not get which wheel had the very very very slight wobble on the other so i recommend you check this before fitting. As i said, the fitter explained it was only minor so should not affect the drive of the car."

just a matter of interest really... is he talking crap?

I would say that the wheels are buckled or damaged in some way and should be avoided. Or the muppet tyre fitter hasnt put the correct weights onto the wheels. Avoid them is what i say

Ask yourself why a seller would tell you about the "wobble".

He'd only be telling you because its serious enough that you'll notice and he can then say "I told you about that and you bought them anyway".

For an alloy wheel to have either enough run out or enough out of roundness for it to be noticeable its either poorly manufactured or its taken a hell of a hit. You don't want it in eaither case.
