wobble?

Car  Ph 1 172
okies the second i get above 70mph in my car and take my foot off the accelerator i got a really violent wobble coming through the steering wheel and a knocking noise if i put my foot back on it goes away got any ideas what it could be lads and lasses? or is it just a clio nopise...just worrying me as it sounds like me wheels are about to fall off!!

hey dude, i had exactly the same problem before, turned out to be loose wheel nuts, no harm to check them out, hope this helps.

yeah i checked them and they are tight as you like they are new wheels though 15s not 14s so wondered if it has anything to do with that

Do your new wheels have spigot rings?

I had this problem with some wheels I put on my old Calibra.

The spigot rings that were fitted were the correct diameter and bore, but they were too wide. The wheels did not pull up straight on the car as the wheels were locking up on the spigot ring and not the inner wheel face. This meant they were slightly askew.

Swapped the spigot rings for narrower items and my adverse wheel wobble vanished.
