Worrying Noise

  Renault Clio 182 Cup
I have a Noise coming from the left hand side of the main block. I had some guy listen today and said ..."it sounds F**ked"!

Which i did not appreciate as it made it sound like i need to send the car to the crushers.

Anyway,

The car is A 2005 Clio 182 cup . the noise is like a rattly/grindy noise. It doesnt make the slightest bit of difference to how the guy runs and drives though. Someone did mention it could be a bearing issue???

Any advise or suggestions would be great...

Kind Regards

Yes Cam Belt side...

What is a Dephaser. Sounds Expensive..

I think Engine out is a little OTT... The car runs perfect... just a funny noise that you can hear when your out the car.

  Lotus Elise
Its the pully that controls the VVT. Looking at about £600 to replace it as it will require a new cambelt.

  Mondeo TDCI 130
if you pick the engine RPM up does the noise go away? if so probably dephaser pulley as sam say's!

Fred, its a legitimate business tactic Sam has there... hook em with a low price to get them in the door then slam them with "extras". Main dealers have been using it for years lol
