I have led rear lights with chrome background. Im thinking about smashing off the clear front cover from each unit, masking off each individual port where the led's sit then painting the units the same colour as the car, to get rid of the chrome.

Heres a pic of what the lights look like at the moment. This is not my car but mine has the same lights but in chrome instead

someone might pancy smashing each led one by one... could you not thinly spray the covers by so the led still shines through?

Not the brightest of ideas as there will be uncovered wiring, the best thing you can do is heat the lense up with a hair dryer until the gleu is tacky and carfully prize the two apart.

When you refit them use a high quality sealant and adhesives such as TigerSeal or Sikaflex.
