would you re-spray a v6???

but...i also love liquid yellow, the price of mk2s and also the fact that ive always loved mk1's puts me off going for one...

so..what do you think of my photoshop of a liquid mk1 with my wheels on..

i thought if i used a genuine renault paint colour..and had a proper job respray, i.e wait till it needs a cambelt (engine out) and then spray..then it surely wouldnt be that much of a loss

Resprays are evil generally.. unless you strip it completly.. to just the shell and get a top paint job (like, a restoration company) to spray it.

I'd take a wild guess that a complete respray of the car would cost a fair amount. Have you considered looking into a wrap ?? You could get a better deal for a solid colour, but still about £1200 including the actually wrapping. They last about 4 years.

The problem is, resprays kill the value of a car.. in my experience.

I'd think people looking for a V6, if you ever came to sell it, may not be happy with a respray.

Yea, and it'd be WELL expensive, heh.

I priced one up.. not cheap once you have Xenon's etc.

Indeed, this is where a wrap comes in handy, it preserves the paint job, protecting it from chips and scratches, whilst giving you whatever design you want.

Again, not cheap but then neither is a respray.

And no, don't respray it, unless your getting it resprayed to original colour i.e to rid it of chips.

Personally I wouldn't bother, if you want a liquid yellw v6 save up a bit & buy a mk2.

i'd go for it, as simon says, if you plan on keeping it a few years anyway, the car will depricate, so you lose cash anyway.

i love liquid yellow.

The respray looks awesome, as long as its what u really want, and u can afford it, do it.

At the end of the day if you've got the money in the bank its just a number on a screen, nothing to show for it.

Better to enjoy it. I love it with the grey wheels btw...

A wrap, for those in the dark ages (hehe), is a vinyl sticker that fits the whole car, yes there are usually a few pieces like the inside of door arches, but from the outside it's a completely different car.

I'm sure you guys see advertising cars around, for instance here in Brighton there's a decoration shop with a smart car that appears to have a "bubbles paintjob" when infact it's a wrap.

If you followed the gumball this year, there were quite a few cars with wraps.

An orange lamborghini murcielago spyder with a lighting wrap design, a black ferrari 430 with a green wrap, a range rover belonging to daryl hannah with a pink and white wrap.

Infact, if you don't mind being a big billboard on the road, you can earn something like £1500 a year for having a wrap on your car advertising another company, causes no damage to the paint when being removed and protects it from scratches and chips (no I don't work for them lol, but I'd go for it if I lived in the midlands).

GDI have quoted £2000 for liquid yellow...with fitting of a mk2 tailgate and genuine V6 spoiler

im really loving the grey wheels also...i think even with iceburg they would look sweet

Spray it in Honda Championship white, black alloys and air intakes.

I'd take it to one of the places that specialise in the sort of paint finish you see on cars at modified car shows. It'll cost but it will be worth it. If they can do all these amazing paint finishes liquid yellow should be fairly easy for them.
