Wouldn't rev properly and EML flashed

This morning on the way to work i accelerated onto the dual carriageway and got to 80mph i hit the cruise button the speed then dropped to around 70 mph at which point it accreted back up to 80 mph, it then did it again but this time i put my foot on the accelerator and still wouldn't rev until 70 mph, the EML flashed three times and then went off and once i slowed down for the roundabout and re-accelerated the car ran perfectly normal again.

any idea what caused this?

ignition or injection fault... diagnostics to see what caused it really as its likely to be the start of a regular occurance.

Shouldn't be no... usual suspects really: coil pack, leads, injector(s), H02 sensor
