Write Off?

Well when home early on friday from work and some t**t reversed into me in his van! went passed his delivery address and decided to slam it into reverse as I was going down the road!

Anyway list of visible damage, bumper, bonnett, grill, radiator, pass wing, pass light not working, car won't lock, warning lights on dash plus damage to the windscreen, can't lift the bonnet so can't look under it. he has admitted full fault, and they have picked my car up and car me a chevrolet hire car, not sure if they are going to fix it tho

Cars still at mine they won't be picking it up till tomorrow, not told me if they will fix it or not:S

nah not a write off.

THIS was fixed no bother, all new panels including rads. Saying that, it was a year ago now.

radiator is all bent so will need a new one it was pissing out at the time of the crash, nah other wing is fine. also the slam panel may have pushed back cause the bonnet won't open

already in the process mate, actually in quite a bit of pain tbh!

They'll want to get the car in for inspection first, then they'll raise the repair quote with your insurance who will either approve it, or write it off. The garage will contact you and let you know either way.

not going through my insurance mate, his is doing all the work, although my insruance is aware of everything, his insurance picked my car up and took it mine and gave me the hire car, my insurance haven't got involved.

ah my bad... same applies to his insurance though. The garage will forward the repair quote to them to decide, after they've inspected the car.

Don't forget, you have the right to choose any approved insurance repair garage you like... you don't have to accept theirs.

wouldn't have thought so, just need to replace the front end (bumper,grill and bonnet) assuming under the bonnet hasn't been shunted?

Easyish fix. My corsa was worse than that and it was 6 years old.

That was the damage to my car, and that was so called £4k+ to fix.

Update! rang his insurance company regarding the garage not contacted be (National Repair Centre) in Liverpool, was put on hold, they appologies as they sent the confirmation over to the garage on Fri but the garage have not recieved it! so good job I actually called them! just awaiting a call now!

wow wow wow... that prett looks like a toned down version of what happened to mine. Infact mines only every so slightly worse than conneh's! I have managed to get hold of a brand new 182 front bumper, a new grill, a new slam panel thingy all for about £350! No where near the grand mark! Also...my onnet is SLIGHTLY up just like yours Conneh! Have you been driving with yours like that? As ive had to in mine..and im always VERY scared the bonnet is going to justfly up. It sems very sturdy still when i pull it ..but quite oftan th alarm will to the beeeeeeep as its not shut propperly...and I have to force the bonnet down whilst shouting loads!

Actually mate i've found more often than not its the bonnet catch that just bends so the bonnet cannot open. Can usually bend it back into the right position with DIY skills.

not sure if it will have one on to be honest but we'll see and if it does (doubt it tho) it will be for sale.

Yeah I'm on the look out for some oz f1's in feb/march
