I believe so but only for MP3, photos. Not videos though I think!

Don't worry b3nje, I am interested to know this also as I had my 250Gb External HDD delivered today (wasn't going to use it with my xbox but will if it works)!

as far as i was aware you can as long as its formatted in FAT, i connect my 8gb USB sony key to it which is a 1" hdd and play high def vids from it so i can't see why a bigger drive won't.
