XBOX 360 - Questions

hi, My girlfriend has bought me an Xbox 360 for xmas, the premium one with the HD and stuff. I'm browsing accesories for them, I'm going for an additional wireless controller, plug and go to charge the wireless controllers, but I've saw an "intercooler" what the f**k is this? Sounds cool

Also, I have a cheapo 14" TV/VCR Combi, will i need any additional leads?

Do i need a memory card or is this what the HD is for?

As shes bought you the premium, youve got the HD so you dont need a memory card.

The 360 makes a fair bit of noise with the fans, but that just cools it, no need for it really. Its not loud enough that you'd notice it, well I dont anyway!

14" TV Combi? Time to ask Santa for a new TV!

If your TV supports RGB signals, and most TVs with SCART sockets do, I'd buy the Advanced Scart cable as the normal cable that comes with it (the HD cable with the analogue connections for those that dont have HD) is rubbish unless you have HD and doesnt do the console justice... Good improvement with the RGB signal though, but either way a 14 incher isnt the best way to play the 360!

the intercooler is supposed to prolong the life of your 360, as they get f*cking hot!!! however, it hasn't been proved that these work so I wouldn't bother.

you've got plenty of memory, so don't worry about that. As said above, its good on a normal TV, but to get the most out of it you really need HD. With certain games the text is hardly readable on a normal TV (Dead Rising for example)

hmmm, better get a new TV, dont want anything too big, but want a flatscreen, dont care about HD, how much is say a 21" flat screen TV?

does your current TV display in 50 or 60 hz? if it only does 50hz then your stuffed for certain games as they only load in 60hz....

It is perfectly fine on a normal tv with the advanced scart cable - thats what I'm talking about with the bundled cable - its rubbish and makes things look blurred on a normal tv. As I said above though, this cable sorts the problem out. Its the same with all consoles, they bundle in rubbish cables.

I run my 360 through a 19" dell flat panel monitor dedicated to my gaming needs lol. So much better and sharper.

Plus the misses can go on laptop or watch tv/sky without interupting me haha

I agree with the text barely readable on a normal TV on certain games.

TV will only be better if you have sky or telewest HD!!!
