Xbox console

So now i've got nothing to do i need an xbox. As my bothers will f**k of soon so i can't use theirs.

Now my question is, i only need an arcade as i've got HD here. As far as warranty goes, i will be chipping it so it will be invalid. Is it still worth getting a new one, or just picking something up of the bay. My thought to a new one is that it will be more reliable and less likley to brake/rrod, which i could fix, but would just be a pita.

I bought one off here a few months ago. Never play the f**king thing, I'm old. Pm me if you're interested, 60gb, Forza 2, Fifa and one other game. 2x controllers.

As long as it is relatively new then I think they are far more reliable than they used to be.

I work with has had his 'flashed' for over a year and has been playing online a lot.

I have heard (not sure how much truth there is behind it), one reason people get banned is for trying to play copied games online BEFORE they are on general release.

I know people who had Race Pro before it was available in the shops.

If it rrod and s**t i can get it fixed for a few quid, as my brothers friend does electrical engineering at uni or something so is a genius. I just don't want the haste. And he's had his chipped for a long time(my bro) and no issues at all.

Will just get something cheaper.

Revelinos, it's no risk in chipping it. Both my brothers have played online for time with it chipped and no problem.

There is a risk mate, Microsoft are always sending stuff down to your xbox if you dont catch on to this at the right time and dont update your firmware it will simple block your MAC address blocking you from connecting to XBL

Hmm okay i'll think about it.

But still to origonal question, any newish Xbox will be okay? Not worth getting brand new one?

I think consoles with the HDMI (newer models) are more realiable.

So a second hand 1 for cheap would be the best move if your gonna chip it. If not go for the elite ;)

I hate people who expect people to pay stupid prices for things. Especially when they are young and just can't afford these ridiculously inflated prices so fat w*****s can smoke their cigars and treat their c**k to a polish from dirty hookers. It might be okay to you, when you are older and have a good paying job.

Okay, children.

When you both reach adulthood you might realise how things work.

Lets say a game is £40. Now you'll spend that on a night out, easily. That game will last you a year, at least. If you'd spent £40 on Cod W@W you could probably sell that for £20 now.

If nobody bought games and we all stole them, then there wouldn't be a games industry. Yes, that is a slightly OTT way of looking at things, buts its true.

£40 might seem expensive. But I bet you have a shelf full of DVD's? You'll spend £20 going to the cinema for 2 hours. Games are better value than those.

I don't buy many games. I'll buy new Fifa/Cod/Forza, so £120ish. That'll keep me occupied for months. I'd much rather spend that money so I creep up on Clart in the dark with my knife ready without the risk of being banned.

Skinny, one minute you go on about having loads of money and now you're pretending to be skint. And Millwall, weren't you boasting the other day about you tv etc? lolz

Okay hypocrite police. Go and download some more TV, dvd's and music.

Anyway, i'm really not interested on debating my morals on this s**t.

But i don't remember claiming i had loads of money, in a sense that wasn't clearly me being sarcastic. Please do search.

Only chavs chip their xbox's period. If you can't afford the games then don't buy an xbox! Why the f**k should I have to pay extra just so you can play for free? Cnut :dapprove:

I agree with you.

Because i'm a pikey c**t, obviously. But do you not get this isn't a debate about chipping. It's about whether i should buy new or just go 2nd hand, care to input on that?

Put it this way. if you chip it, and it breaks, ms won't repair it and will probably ban it from live if you try and sent it in.

so just be prepared to keep buying a new one if it does break - ie get the cheapest available. since you are all about the cheapness.

and i hope it does break.

Thanks clart. I can get it repaired if it breaks so that's not a worry. I just didn't want the inconvenience of it breaking really.

Playing CoD etc in single player mode is good, great even. But getting your arse kicked by a 10yr old American takes it to a whole new level.

I wouldn't risk losing live.

Especially when his rubbing it in.

Playing online always reminds me of this...

Like Clart said, you want as cheap as poss so if it breaks, you haven't lost as much.

The 60GB has been discontinued now. You'll need a HD really.

Have a browse on eBay!

But chipping aside.... New or used.

My brother has a 20gb hd sat in his cupboard, hence getting a arcade and just using his hd.

when i thought i'd have to replace mine i was watching a few on ebay. Its possible to pick up a 20gb premuim for about £70. If you don't need the hard drive, asda were doing the arcade for £100. Even the elites go for as low as £100 on ebay.

Roffle at the "I can't afford it so I'll just take it" mentality. Get a f**king job and then you can buy the things you want. That's how the world works. Just a heads up.

You don't get rich by being nice. You get rich by being a c**t and mugging people for everything they've got. Whether it's legal or illegal.

Same with Halo (i have COD 2 and 4 but I am pretty crap on those), there's nothing quite like getting your ass handed to you by some squeeky voiced young lad/lass but wiping out a racist, deep south (of america of course) teenager on live just makes worth staying up until 3am and having to get up with the kids at 8:30 - 9:00.

Yeah yeah.

You should be wise enough to know that any person with 1mill + has mugged someone of or cut some corner. Nice guy's don't get real rich.

Anyway. I wish i didn't mention the chipping s**t now.

Silly question. Why do i need a 120gb hd over say 20gb. What do i actually need to store bar saved games.

You don't have to be a millionaire to spend £30 on a game that will potentially give 100 hours usage.

Find something else that will give you that value for money.

Agreed. On a night out I'll easily clear a ton and that's drinking in a town not in London where you spend £7 on a bottle of beer. £30ish you spend on a game is great VFM and tbh most of the games I've bought lately have been around the £20 to £25 region even though they are new releases sealed in the box. There are plenty of bargains to be had if you look about online so there's no way you can justify not buying a legit copy.
