Xenon Headlights

Car  Clio 182 / 205 Track Car
Help!

My 182 Headlights have packed up!

Sidelights and full beam both work fine.

I have checked the fuses (1 fuse for each side) all seems okay there.

I don't think it would be the bulbs as both headlights are out.

They dont work either on auto lights or manually turning them on.

Any suggestions?

check the wiring to the lights. just unplug and check the condition of the connectors.

Its odd that both went at the same time. Perhaps it could be more related to a single component that controlls both lights.

sorry, i aint much help.

I bet you the earth its the ballast unit. Try not to goto Renault. A new ballast and headlight unit is £500. Thats including parts and labour. They have too do something too the ECU I think

Cheers for the reply's.

Headlights are both intact (No Misting).

I've booked the car into Lucas to get checked out (Hope its not the Ballast unit).

I just find it strange that both headlights are out..... Hopefully just a switch! :)

I'll let you know the result!

Cheers

in 4 years my headlights cost me £550. silly money just to see! thats why i didnt go for xenon on my next car

Sorted!!!!

It was a slack relay!!!

There is a relay in the passenger side upper footwell, just a push back in job!

So luckily it was only 1 hr's labour to pay for.

:)
