Xenon lights

  Clio MK 4
Was wondering if it just my rs or if other people have the same problem. Basically when driving at night with lights on (no beams) I sometimes get flashes from other drivers. I've checked my lights and they seem fine. Also thought it could be warning me for police but never see any.

Then the other day was parked up with lights on and as i was setting off some guy knocked on my window and told me my lights are too bright. but i didnt have them on full beam.

is it possible they are pointing to high ? I've never touched them.

I've never had any one flashing me, and the xenons stay on, morning noon and night.

Could be a problem with the self levelling

Auto adjusting mech might be buggered.

Nip into an MOT station, and get them to test them.

I think some people just flash you anyway because of how bright they are tbh, I call it xenon envy.

Ha ha, people flash me to unfortuanetly not women ;)

I always think they mean police up a head but must be because they are bright. I like the xenon envy though :approve:

Sometimes on unlit A roads the beam can seam to flicker, but its just the body movement of the car. This can sometimes look like your flashing other people as i found out after following my parents home in the 182.

When we got back my dad said what was i flashing the lights for.....

Roffle at xenon envy. It's a clio FFS, and most people don't even know what a xenon is, let alone drive around thinking ZOMG the xenons in that Clio Renualtsport 182 with both cup packs, look AWESOME!!!111

On topic, I imagine the self levelling can only dip the beams lower when the rear is loaded, rather than raise the beam above default?

Xenon envy is awesome and you know it, no they'll only lower then in responce to weight in the back of the car so if the alignment is out in the first place they'll still dazzle people.

Roffle.

However, if they get dity they dont diffuse properly and dazzle people, hence the washers.

Blind the poor ftw!

Yes I realise that. I meant that I doubt simply a buggered auto-level would make them dazzle, since AFAIK it can only adjust them lower, not higher. In actual fact that's exactly what I typed, but explaining things thrice around here is quite normal so no worries. They do go anyway though, I just had to have my poverty spec (but better at lighting the actual road) lamps adjusted in my shed at MOT time, for no apparent reason.

can i adjust the level myself?

Yes but I imagine you're going to need an alignment unit to set them properly. As Christopher said earlier, just pop down to an MOT station and get them to set them up for you. If you're lucky you might get one of the guys to do it for a drink, but either way it won't cost much and at least you'll know they're set properly.
