Do you mean stiff shift? I have the stiff shift and it's brilliant. Takes all the slop out of the original linkage and makes the shift smooth and precise.
If that's the one that has a longer gear lever you need to use the short shift link to bring the gear lever throw back so it will be fine. If it's not, just don't rush the gear changes as you'll do damage to the synchros.
don't know how much they cost I'm afraid. My stiff shift cost £50 iirc.
It fits in the original gear shift housing. You have to drop it from the underside of the car. It comes with full fitting instructions and it's easy enough to do.
No stiff shift doesn't reduce throw.
