Yozzasport Extra Low Rear Suspension

  Lionel Richie
no coil binding, its 250lb

i'm not giving any more info than that, its a proper spring, unlike the Leda one ;)

  Lionel Richie
no, LEDA's use a 2.25inch dia x 6inch straight coil spring

ours is a more traditional type spring, similar to the one on the H&R's/Fk's

that's not strictly true though, having a front end collision with say a 4x4, I would rather be in a standard clio than a 'slammed' clio.

Whats this got to do with my quote...???????

CS clic.......

My post was informative and had a point, so it should not be removed. No explaination or PM from Mods.

Come on CS moderators........or did Fred just plead to remove it........?

what was your post EVO i missed it,surly if its something informative the mods shouldnt remove it

Fred - are 250lb springs very stiff? I am interested in getting a set of these off you as you may remember I am gettin a set of Spax coilovers made up (my mate works for Spax) but as you know rear is not height adjsutable so this would solve that problem although I am pretty sure that K-Tec said they would sell me a set of Fk rear springs and platforms for £100 - dont want the set up to be too stiff so would the FK be better for me?

  Lionel Richie
similar

the FK springs are softer i believe, and the adjustable platforms on the FK's do cease over time unless you keep them lubricated

FK's would be the cheaper alternative

the kit i'm offereing has large threads so won't cease up, plus they're all aluminum (fk's are steel, with ali adjuster rings)

i can do you a 225lb rear spring if you feel the 250's are too hard (but the 250's are optimum IMO)

i too thought 250 was abit hard, isn't this the set up GAZ use?

anyone know what poundage the H&R rears are?

to me the leda set up looks wrong at the back as it uses a straight spring, the normal 'ballon' spring must be like that for a reason...... i've noted when fitting new rear springs that the bottoms that fit on the trailing arm are tapered, the leda ones don't look that from the pics

this is the bit that doesn't look right to me

The Leda setup uses Eibach Race coils....you can also specify any rate you like.

Would be interesting to know what rate springs the H&R kit are supplied with.

even the OE springs dont 'fit' when the axle is not under the cars weight, problem with balloon type as you call it is you cant alter length or choose and change rates in a matter of a day from ordering. 2.25" are generic, cheaper and perfectly fine.

totally depends on the damper, I have driven on teh Ledas with 275 fronts for example and it not as harsh as the bilsteins with 225! so its all in the damper.
