you always map for max torque throughout the rev range. then power is determined by the RPM.
they are linked using the following formula.
Horsepower = (torque x RPM)/ 5252
so if an engine makes 170 ft lb at 5500rpm it will make about 178 bhp at 5500rpm.
say that torque drop slightly to 160...
you will never have back pressure problems with a turbo, a decat will be fine.
I would get it, much better noise ;) and power, and probably the odd flame.
You do need to come back and get a proper filter and air-con delete kit though.

We have done about 6 kits so far in 2011. Se we are getting a dab hand at them now. Just recently fitted a kit to the mintest phase 1 I have ever seen. Only had 20k on the clock.

Yeh I did have it up for sale, and it still is if i get a good offer, just sort of testing the waters, see what i got offered as a PX. but I didnt really get offered anything I really wanted. so i just decided to stick with the devil i knew for a bit longer. lol
Her clio is on bilstein b14's. needs to come to us for a Geo i know.
With the tyres, I havent found a need for a Diff yet on the road. On Track though im sure I will, but that is yet to be seen.
Phil Keen is going to sort me out with a Quaife if i need one, he has given me a pretty good price. ;)
