Are the genuine Renault Timing tools for the F4r the same for mk2 and mk3 Clio’s.
I can get hold of a genuine set that I’ve been told are only for a Clio 197/200 but I thought the tools were pretty much the same for all F4r
Have a look at http://www.xrallyparts.com
It's in French but they have an English button somewhere. They supply maxi engine parts, I'm sure I read somewhere they they do a 1400 kit, they do have parts listed for the K4J though but its not cheap.
Speak to Quaife.... they were in the process off doing a sequential box using the standard gearbox cases. They were asking for knackered 1*2 gearboxes around a year ago so they could do R&D, don't know where they are with it now but it's worth an ask.
Have used Wheel Coat a few times now, pretty much always ready the next day and good communications. Quite a few Powdercoaters in Fife but definitely the best I've used.
Recently started having hot start issues with my cup. Starts every time when cold but when hot sometimes just clicks away. Starts straight away if you bump it.
Turns out there is no starter motor heat shield fitted, ordered one and it is on its way.
Do you think the starter will be damaged...
Will have another crack at it tomorrow. Never had this problem bleeding brakes before.
The brakes were fine till they failed lol
I am pretty sure the lines are all fine.
It is a cup so no ABS, I will get a price for a new mc just in case.
I am in Fife in Scotland
Thanks for your help.
Hey after some advice. I lost my brakes at my last trackday, ended up rebuilding both front calipers and am at the point of bleeding.
I cannot get it to bleed at all, as in any fluid to come out at all. I have tried the normal pumping method. Left it overnight to try the gravity method and have...
There website lists a lot cheaper, £340 for timing and aux belt. That is for a cup though. I was going to try them out also as they looked pretty cheap
I had an "incident at Knockhill last time I was there. My pads looked great before I went but fell apart when I was out.....
Lol trying to load pics from photo bucket but having no luck, basically my pads looked perfect but failed dramatically.
Going forward if I have any doubts about my pads I...
Exactly this, I did my first reverse day at Knockhill earler this month. Was taking it easy as had road tyres on but got carried away and stayed out a bit to long. Came to the end of the main straight, went to brake for the hairpin and foot went straight to the floor. Went straight through the...
I got a set of Nankangs, no problems with them. Took just over a week to arrive and came on two separate deliveries ie 2 tyres came one day and the other two the next.
I will use them again.
I just bought a set of NS2r, I was going to buy the 180 compound (medium) but was told by the supplier that they are designed for road use and the 120 soft tyres for track use and were very different. Got the soft in the end, worth a try for £212 a set.
