my mk1 172 speedo goes dead at times, i reckon it's the sensor under the car, near the dog bone mount, that needs replacement? how much is the sensor and what's the part number? cheers!

i would tint the oem rear lights a little... think they look better than the mk2 rear lights on yellow.

mine did that twice and on both occasions it was due to weak battery. both batteries lasted a year each on the dot!

the tuners near me said they basically download the superchip base program into the oem ecu. they could remap further to the mods on the car too. so it's not really off the self isnt it?

how do you know when you clutch cable needs changing? heavy clutch feel when depressing the pedal?

dun think there's kw v3 for the clio rs? for the track, i'm sure the B14 is great out of the box. surely the kw v2 is somewhere between the H&R and B14, the adj damping will come in handy for road and track setup?

^^ do you mean the kw rear dampers are exactly the same as koni yellows? how abt the front? how do you find the ride on road and track? mine's a mk1 172.

i have these on my mk1 172 too. you should now get some camber bolts fitted and you will find yourself taking corners at speed you never thought off previously :)

i understand KW use koni dampers, whose springs do they use for their coilovers? i was advised to buy koni dampers instead of KW and save the cash since both are essentially the same dampers. i doubt that's the case huh? does KW not revalve the dampers according to their own specs? does the...

No one seems to rave abt the KW v2 here, wonder why? i intend to get some coilovers that is track bias. anyone had or sat in a ride with KW v2, how's the feel? i know the H&R is great on road and B14 is on track. Would also like to know where KW stands amongst these 2.

why do you need to change your gasket when you do inlets match? what will happen if you reuse your old gasket? i suppose it is a good to change thingy and not a must change huh?

agree that some cars benefit compared to others on the same mods, say turbo and na cars. but for mods relating to handling, stiffen the chasis etc, the theory applys widely to all cars. whiteline seems to do a nice quality bit of kit for the clio models. http://www.whiteline.com.au/ have a...

^^ why no to lower brace?? i know Whiteline does a lower brace and adj sway bar (18mm) for the clio. it helps to increase grip on the front tyres doesnt it? have a read at their main website under FAQ.

thanks edde. was thinking of the B14 PSS initially but will go with H&R now. Bilstein has lost a customer because their staff did not know his stuff... lol

Received a reply from Bilstein saying that my mk1 172 is a variant model because my engine no. states F4RD730C010172. Bilstein has a B14 PSS for engine numbers without a 'D' behind the F4R, such as F4R 730xxxxx. Could they be mistaken? I thought the mk1 172 and mk2 172 are of the same chasis...

sounds like the same issue i had recently. changed the tdc sensor and cleaned the throttle body. problem solved.

wow... what have you got in there? that figure will do for me too :) btw, are all group N remaps the same, i mean from renaultsport? so is there a diff between the group N ecu from ktec, paul, bb, gdi, h.p. and the likes, apart from pricing that is?

do you have a close up shot of your engine bay? goin to relocate my batt so can have a more direct intake flow too. where did you purchase the intake elbow, leading to the throttle body?

i had almost similar issue recently with my mk1 172, revs goes up and stays there when clutch is disengaged. Had my TDC sensor replaced and throttle body cleaned, car is back tip top again. :)

^^ didnt know the oem leads are better than the mag 8.5mm leads.. will change them back one of these days. btw, you are up early on a Sat... working on an extra inlet for me huh? :P

how much saving would i get if i changed the right seats to bucket seats and take my rear seat out? abt 40kg?

on my mk1 172, i'm doing -2.1deg camber wif a tiny bit toe out. had fun on Sepang f1 track yesterday... oh on jus oem shocks wif eibach pro :)

you refering to plugs or leads? oem plugs are more than great :)

what cable? you mean the throttle cable? so do you reckon it will be safe to track?
