1.4 1998 Clio with idling problems

Hi there

I have a 1.4 1998 clio, and I have a problem with the car cutting out after starting, it wont idle unless i give it a load of revs.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks, would it require cleaning or replacing? Is it a tough job to do or reasonably easy?

It's a DIY job chap, no real special tools required other than some basics and patience.

Maybe, maybe not - I'd just try removing and cleaning it first
