just got a new xperia Z2 and ive done a few 120fps videos.

they play fine on the phone and on facebook but my laptop is struggling to play them.

its craps out after about 2 seconds and goes fuzzy and judders so I cant watch it.

I just use WMP to play videos, I did just try the sony software but again its made no odds.

any suggestions?

pretty identical to my Z but loving the new camera and features.

will try VLC player thanks

Vlc didn't work either, is it likely to be a hardware issue with my laptop?

what os is the laptop running?

i was having the same problems on my laptop with some 1080p videos and i tried to upgrade the GPU drivers and realised windows (win 8.1) was using it's own.

had to uninstall the widows ones before being able to install the AMD ones which cured the probs.

sounds like a hardware issue then! most likely that your PC cant handle it, mad how the phone spec is better than most laptops!

quad core 2.3ghz with 3 gig ram and dedicated graphics!!

I'm loving my Z2 atm except for the fact 4mins of video can take nearly 1gb!!

my laptop is dell inspiron 1750, t3000 1.79ghz processor and 4gb of ram - running W7 64bit

just checked using cup z I have a ATI Radeon HD 4300 series graphics card

that's a better gpu than my dell 1737 although i do have a "faster" cpu, it should play it all fine

it only just struggled with some 4k videos

i'd try downloading the amd drivers from the amd website and try installing them first and see what that does

I have indeed through that yep and that's why I made this thread to get help to work out the problem

did it install ok?

i know when i did mine it said i didn't have an hardware that matched but i had to uninstall the windows drivers and try the driver install again

At what resolution were the 120fps movies shot mate? I suspect the laptop cannot play the videos back due to the high bandwidth / transfer rate required at 120fps. Sorry I can't be much more help other than that!

120fps @ 720

ah bugger after installed those amd drivers now when I try to play a youtube video its just green. I get nothing else :(

i'll try on my laptop being as it fairly similar but with a older gpu

i'd also go through the catalyst control center and make sure everything is set to performance

nope doesn't work on mine either but it is 50Mbits/s so that could explain something

it works fine on my phone (htc one m8)
