RPi and cache

Ok help please?

I've basically got the same issue as this guy...

Only I'm running xbmc on a raspberry pi. (Raspbmc)

So how do I fix it the way the guy says? (Get into the code?)

Take the SD card out and stick it in a PC. Files can be read from there

My mate installed mine on my PC and he said don't run the update . So I haven't and I think I'm running 12.8 version.
I to experience slow download speeds and buffering to much .
I have no idea where the clear the cache folder is to clear is to help speeds things up , anyone know ?

Yeah apparently Gotham (the one I've got) is a nightmare for that.
Xbmc hub is used to clear cache but I've heard its also considered malware (I think it did f**k up rpi no.1 tbh)

you can plug the sd card into pc, but the pc will need to have http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/ etc to access and ammend files
you other optionwould be to use http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/ then connect to the Pi and use the sudo codes as in your link
