I'm still level 20, and my DZ is level 12. My best mate has bought this, so I might start a new character and work with him (he's level 4), as there's nobody at my level now!

Had my first experience of a someone going rogue in the DZ, b*****d. Thought he was reviving someone so walked away, turns out he was being a treacherous toad.

Started playing with the matchmaker now which makes it loads better, although it did seem to jump me in with some people part way through a mission last night

Taken me over an hour to get to the end of the last story mission. Now I realise there is absolutely no way I can solo it. Ffs. f**king game

I did that on the mission where you have to protect the RTF guy fixing the satellite, I tried over and over to do the last part for a few hours before accepting it was never going to happen.

Hit DZ rank 40 now, and have the Golden Blackmarket AK for secondary weapon, still rocking the M44 Hunting as primary, I'm not sure you can get a slow fire high damage gold marksman.

40! f**k me, how many hours you put in?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but my mate who is level 18, I'm 16 has an AK that does 1500 damage, my best AR does 700, is he just getting lucky finding weapons or am I missing something?

All my weapons seem to be way behind. His advanced weapon vendor also sells better weapons than mine

I don't know about hours.

Last night I match made with a group of German guys and we just went from location to location in the DZ taking out all the enemies trying to get High-End gear from the named NPCs - gained a lot of ranks doing that.

It's getting harder and harder though, and now I lose like 4000 exp if I die, if I die while rogue I lose about 14000.

Hmmmmm - my doubts are creeping in thick and fast. I can only suspend my belief of what's going on so far after emptying several AK-47 clips into an enemy, who's sole protection appears to be that of a hoodie.

I'm at Level 10 now. What's going to happen at Level 30? The same process, but those several clips are required to be fired by a 7k+ DPS weapon, in order to achieve the same effect?

I've yet to venture into the Dark Zone, so I'm hanging fire on making a final judgement. My concern is that I won't even make Level 30 before repetitive boredom steps in. There is only so far that you can go by adding different coloured mods to the same kit in order to increase the all-important DPS score. Still a good game in multiplayer though - purely from the cover and tactics point of view.

7k+? I'm doing over 100k and need to unload a whole mag to kill DZ elite enemies.

Named NPCs take 3-4 whole mags.

A guy I was with last night was doing 122k.

Getting sick of being teamed with bellpieces that keep needing revives.

Stop running into the heavy enemy areas like you're king f**king kong.

Is this worth buying another Xbox One for?

I'm sorely tempted.

Personally I'd say no. It looks pretty. The voice acting is good and it's an interesting take on a familiar genre. It shines as a multiplayer game but is noticeably weaker in SP mode.

Overall, it seems a bit of a shallow experience for me. Once you get past the initial 'that's cool' factors - it's a quest to increase the damage your trio of weapons dish out. And that's about it. Even the upgrades at the centres you unlock at the forward base, sound plausible and clever - but their benefits are really quite abstract. Take the security wing unlock of a canine unit. Do I get a Dogmeat companion like in Fallout 3? Or do the friendly patrols that you see out and about have a dog unit with them as backup? No. When you kill an enemy with a sidearm, you get an extra clip for your primary weapon.

It's like there's been little direction taken in the game coming together. It's got a lot of great little bits in it. But unfortunately, all these bits don't cumulatively make a bigger and better game overall.

I'd definitely recommend it if you saw it cheap and had the console already. But as a reason to buy that console in a first place? Nope.

Technically it's not a brilliant game, nothing about it is ground breaking, other than maybe the quality of the map.

But if you like games where character upgrades are possible then it'll have you absolutely hooked trying to get marginally better and better gear.

Also, the game really starts at endgame, that's when you can take on challenge mode which is brilliant fun as a team of four, and you can do the daily missions etc.

I'm absolutely loving it, and shooters aren't really my thing, but RPGs are, and this game is enough RPG to have me enjoying it, I personally really like the upgrades system.

Need some advice please. I'm on level 5 (only played it for a couple of hours) and was doing the mission where you have to take the roof of the field hospital and I was working with a random. But then they left the game and I'm left to do it by myself, but I just can't do it.

I also can't do a matchmaking as it keeps saying you can't do it in a no spawn area. How on earth do I get past this mission when I can't even seem to join anyone else?

Do the matchmaking before you start the mission?

Fast travel back to base, or run out the way you came in.
Ah ok, I could find how to fast travel either but I can go out, thanks.

I don't know whether it's just me getting old, but computer games seem to assume you know things these days, there's less and less assistance I'm finding. Does even come with a manual.

I feel like my parents with computers, and I've been in the computer industry for 17 years.

What platform are you playing on? On PS4 you fast travel by choosing a location you can fast travel to on the map, such as the Base of Operations or any other safe house, and then you press Square.

Yeah ps4
It doesn't help that I'm ill, so not really thinking straight.
Thanks for the pointers though.

I've watched a few videos and it seems like a "crawl about" game...

Is there much more than crawling around and hiding?

I'd Leeroy Jenkins that shizzle and get everyone killed, before claiming it's not my fault.

Managed to get all three of my weapons as High-Ends, just got the Midas SMG which has insane perks relating to critical hits and skill cooldowns.
