Slight play both wheels

Both play in front wheels and can feel on inner track rods. How easy these to change I have access to a ramp

Me and mate checked at work can feel the knock as such on the inner tie rods :/

If you're doing the inners then I'd change the outers for peace of mind as you may well have to get aggressive with then if they haven't been touched for a while.

The hardest bit is removing the inners from the steering rack so have a look at access before getting to the point of no return and not having a car to drive

As for removing them they're pretty sttight forward. Obviously jack up and wheels off, the next step will depend on whether you're keeping or binning the old outer ends, if you're keeping them then I'd suggest loosening off the locking nut for adjusting the tracking and freeing up the inner rod from the outer end before undoing the nut on the outer ball joint of the steering arm, as if you don't they can be a real nightmare to split afterwards. If you are reusing the outer ends then count the amount of turns it takes to get the outer end off as it will give a semi accurate guide as to how far back on they will need to go. If you're not keeping the old outer ends then you can skip to below.

To remove the inner arm from the end if the rack you'll first need to remove the plastic/rubber gaiter which will be either held by spring clips or cable ties, with this off the inner end and the end of the steering rack will be visible, however access isn't always great, I use a proper tool that is adjustable and slots over the inner track rod but space allowing you could use a large spanner or a big set of grips.

This is what I use, not overly cheap but very effective

Installing is just the reverse of the above really, bear in mind you'll no doubt need the tracking resetting afterwards though.

I echo what @Ads29 has said. I recently changed mine and borrowed a fan spanner but couldn't get enough leverage on it as space was so tight so got the same tool as pictured above and with a breaker bar on the end it finally came off.

Ok got a link to that tool as I can't find any brand will do? And do u just unscrew them screw new ones on? I work for ford and never seemed to have any problems with these sorry :/

No worries. I just popped 'steering arm tool' into the search bar of the bay and took a screen shot for an example, the one pictured is about £35.

Don't know about doing a guide lol, if people want one I'd do it

And yep just undo the old ones and then do up new, I'll have a look in the morning and see what the torque setting is as I can't remember off hand

There is a knack to the tool thought, mine kept slipping at first, I had to get it in place, hold it still whilst I got the breaker bar on the end then hold the breaker bar with one hand and the tool with the other. I was finding that if you let the tool drop slightly, it slipped. Easy once you know how to do it though.

I had a right palaver when getting mine. I've got a non cup 182 with the SMI rack. I would have thought you'd have the SMI rack too but best to double check. The Lemforder rods that I got from ECP were waaayyy too short. See this thread that I started, http://www.cliosport.net/threads/inner-tie-rods-confusion.795056/

I ended up getting genuine Renault ones which are for a Kangoo (Part No: 77 01 473 655). There still slightly shorter but longer than the Lemforder ones I got from ECP.
