Shorter final drive

I'm looking at getting a spare gearbox to rebuild for my Ph1 and want to fit a shorter final drive. A 4.21 would do nicely and you can get these in the JB1 as well as a 4.5 final.

Could the crownwheel and pinion be fitted to a ph1 or cup box?

I’ve done some messing about funnily enough. Never driven a car with one fitted though.
