I have no f**king idea what speed I was doing but I know it's a quick track! Managed a 1.28.7 according to Harry which I was pleased with for a 182 with sportlines, ds1.11 and some old style 888s but tbh I have no idea how that compares!

I started of at over 1.40 and ended with 1.33 which for a pretty standard Phase 1 that had to get me home I was pleased with. I would expect its quite slow, but a longer time on track would have faired me better, and maybe a bit of tinkering with the engine is called for :)

Yeah it’s definitely a fast circuit mate! 1:28 is a good lap time as well. I was doing around 1:26’s, but I know the track well. Being 2 up and air con on didn’t help lap times, but it was all about having a laugh with @nath&alex - and it was definitely that! Kicking myself for not putting the GoPro on now!

Well that’s good to know! I’m sure the flamer would’ve managed a 1:27 fairly easily, it’s a bit more sorted suspension wise and pulls on the straights on the 182.

There’s always next year. When I trailer it down...

Really enjoyed the circuit, Knockhill is great but there’s something about flat in 4th gear that is just lovely! Managed it through Schwantz and wasn’t far off it at all through craners but it was just a bit too soft.

Also, it really highlighted that I’m properly s**t at taking it easy.
Borrowing friends car - check
Already had a breakdown - check
300 miles from home - check

Better go flat out then!

I could comfortably get into the 1:24’s if I took the interior out of the 200, but I’m fucked if I’m doing that!!

I got distracted and out braked myself at the end of the Dunlop straight. Lol! Me and @nath&alex were pissing ourselves laughing at that point. I do believe I said ‘ooh it’s not gone well!’ ?

I wasn’t flat through craners tbh mate, but I was balancing the throttle instead. I was also braking too early as I’m still getting used to the 200 even after this long! Need to drive it more.

Lol at not taking it easy in someone else’s car as well!!

Aye feathered it through there after trying flat once and shitting it!

That kerb on the left of the chicane looked like a sump killer, I'd already decided that if I outbraked myself I wasn't going to attempt it and just aim for the gravel. I'd rather get the tow of shame than hit that fucker!

Have you even driven it since last years FCS?!

Oh, also, if the guy with the red valver with willy wheels happens to see this - move the f**k over, that was some of the worst track discipline/manners/standards I've ever seen.

I could go flat with the cup mate no problem, so the AG will be doing the same thing.

Yeah those kerbs at the chicane ain’t the nicest! The run off that i went into wasn’t even there last year. It was all gravel!

Hahahaha! Yes I have! But it was only the 3rd time this year I’d driven it, and I’d hazard a guess it was the 4th or 5th time since fcs17. ?

Your cup was sorted though!

What a waste, I could use it for a few months and keep things ticking over if you like. I'm really good at driving them gently...

Mk3 handles better though mate believe it or not. I’d had a lot of seat time in the cup as well which always helps. I’ll try and book a day at Donington in the 200 I think to settle myself in.

Lol - yeah but it would also mean I’d have to get the car up to Scotland! Not sure I could cope with the mileage increase from the drive up there!! Never mind the journey back!!

Doubling its annual mileage!

I will get the flamer there one day but realistically it'll be next year now. We treated yesterday as a taster session to see if it's worth the expense/time/hassle and is certainly say it is. Want to do a few other circuits down the road too, Croft, Oulton and Anglesey are next on the list but Knockhill will more than keep me going for now.

The Mk3s certainly seem to go round a corner very well, may have to sample one as a daily at some point.

Yeah I don’t think I could cope with that! I’m getting all flustered just thinking about it! Lol!

I’ve done Oulton, but never Anglesey or Croft. For me I prefer Donington, but Oulton was another rewarding circuit when you got it right.

Erm, regards the 200 as a daily, I’d tread carefully! Mine was filled with v power on Saturday morning. I then travelled up to Donington, went out on track and returned home...............with the fuel light on as I got home. That was a grand total mileage of 105 (ish) miles. 60 of which were the journey there and back, the rest were laps around Donington!

In its defence though, it does need to be mapped for the akrapovic and it was also having its arse kicked.

How busy was it this year? I had to can all show visits this year due to personal commitments so I missed it.

Just a couple from the GoPro on the day.

Currently editing the footage from the track.

Good day overall, as already mentioned numbers down on last year. 389e3667d42eca282e8da1406874a591.jpg3834ae22acb07b77462863f28b083775.jpga7fdd04616c566676bc0742267e27633.jpg11cfe3a9b81d789752ca1e7e915aa39c.jpg

Cheers! I remember Gazeratti from years ago, met him once, about ten years ago! I really like the white Meg R26 (the 58 reg one) there's some other nice looking cars there too. The crap number plates some have are absolutely comical! ?

No they failed to book a track in time as some reduced the availability for non motorsport events due to extra demand after Rockingham closed last year. They mooted a static event but I don't think that got a very good reception from punters.
