Cylinder head advice

A 172 I just purchased has come with a rebuilt cylinder head but the mating face has some damage. The photos do make the damage look worse. I've read that these engines don't particularly like cylinder heads being skimmed.

Is there an overall height they can't go below or any other way of measuring to see if the head would still be ok to use.

What are people's opinions on this being salvageable and can anyone identify what valves have been put into it.
It also looks to have had some port work maybe?

Heads can take a small amount of skimming and you can compensate using a thicker head gasket.
Difficult to see from the photos but you may get away with a light block sanding using some medium wet and dry.
And yes, someone has been at those ports. Possibly matched to an intake?

Looks like it's already been skimmed once but then something has marked that corner.

Should get away with another skim to clean it up.

Hopefully it's still useable then! Possibly matched, it came with a car but with a standard rs lower inlet, supposedly cat cam valve springs and uprated valves but no invoices to prove it.

Yeah potentially Supertech with the black coating on the exhaust valves.

Definitely not Renault ones.
