Wish I had bought this tool and the Renault cam locker so I didn’t have to spend £300

A non-genuine tool must still line up with the same keys/locations to a genuine one.

It doesn't fit, as above, it's for the wrong engine.

Genuine tools or nothing, they don't lose value second hand so you might as well buy a set and either keep them for next time or sell them on when you're finished.

If you ask nicely you might find someone local to you who will rent/loan you a set.

£200 or so for a second hand genuine set is significantly cheaper than an engine rebuild when you get it wrong.

Yep, it’s definitely for a different engine. Is it worth just getting the Renault cam locker as that’s the main part. Surely the locking bar at the back and crank locking pin are different too. Don’t seem to be.

The horseshoe tool for the cams is the most important to get genuine if money is tight.

This set is £200 on eBay right now, might be worth shooting Ozzy or Dann a message and see if you could borrow - would be cheaper in the long run and know the tools are bang on

Does the OEM Renault tool work on non VVT and VVT engines. Seen one of hire at £80 buts it’s for a non VVT.

There is an additional cam pulley locking cog with different offset for the dephaser pulley, the set on eBay for sale doesn't look to have it

This is the part you need for a dephaser pulley

My timing tools are out with another CS member at the moment, so I can't help you out this time

Thanks for the info, might see anyone on here will let me borrow/rent there for a weekend. If not I’ll just have to fork out for one.
