oh i love my alarm

oh how happy i am now the winters on its way, remote start the clio 15 minutes before i have to go out on a morning and its all demisted an slightly warmer when i get in it, only let down is it doesnt do the rear window.

finally im getting to see the benifit of the extra £180 i paid for it to be added in.

Remote start is illegal to use if the cars parked on the public highway. Insurance won't take kindly if it crashes I'd expect they would refuse to pay up.

i take it you know diddly squit about remote start then!!!!

it only works when its out of gear, and its on my drive so causing no problems to anyone!!!

its still alarmed, imobilised, crook lock still on, somehow i doubt it will be crashing into anything, lol

Its illegal to leave a car on the public highway with noone in control of it.

How is it imobiliserd and the engine still running its imbossible the imobiliser stops the engine starting.

I agree it won't crash just saying legally.

Your nearly right, its illegal to leave a vehicle unattended with the engine running, on a public highway. [Road traffic act 1999]

That is regardless of whether or not it is locked, alarmed and controlled by a remote starter device.
There is an exemption for emergency service vehicles at the scene of an incident.

If its on private property, your driveway for instance, then there is no offence.

I dont know who told you that but I doubt very much that its true.

The specification for an approved alarm is based on minimum requirements for compliance. " B/B siren, volumetric detection 2 point immobiliser etc."
if you have a 3 point immobiliser and three types of sensors, it can not be regarded as a downgrade.
Quite a few Cat1 alarms also have 2nd and 3rd channel outputs to operate boot release and headlight timers for instance.
If what you were told were true, any alarm with these options enabled would not comply.
