A good buy?

I'd be worried by the no returns and no real pictures of the whole thing, hope it's all alright as that's a bargin!

I have the full company address so not too worried about the crappy pics to be honest, but watch this space... ;) Pics will follow once fitted :)

having had a carbon bonnet without washer jets or a bonnet stay i'd never ever buy another one without them as its such a pain the arse its unreal. however it does look soo good when the sun hits the carbon that it makes you forget about the grief.

definetely a good buy if its all up to standard :)

cheap that id be a bit iffy over it... my mate bought a cheap one and got a dodgy fit.... hope you dont get that prob tho pal

Daz drop me a PM when you update this thread as I know a good company who do windscreen wiper arm mounted washer jets. No more drilling holes ;)

The finish is immaculate and the weave perfect. No damage whatsoever so looks like I got a bargain! Let's just hope the fitment is as good as the quality when I fit it this weekend! :approve:

looks awesome daz! I'd def consider scuttle panel washer jets opposed to wiper arm washer jets as i found it more effective. All you need it a three pronged fiat seicento washerjet so you can adjust the three waterjets to the whole windscreen

Looks good !

Daz, who are you insured with? Has it (or will it) add much to your premium?

Ive just been told they wont cover mine next year so looking for companies who cover Carbon fibre Bonnets.

it's got the washer jets pre-drilled mark mate so I've gotta stick with convention I'm afraid. On the up side tho it has all the bonnet catch and hinge fixings pre-installed so it's all good :approve:

Has, I'm with elephant. I haven't spoke to them about it yet but I'm over 25 so I wouldn't see a problem. If there is I'll save it till renewal (december) and then switch companies before fitting.

^^ ah right

Its just finding a company! They told me age wasnt an issue, it was that they no longer covered Carbon Bonnets

strange change, but i got the same thing from various companies :(

Tesco iirc.

Yup they cover a hell of a lot of mods and have been with them for 4 years now!

EVERY mod is paid out on a like for like basis and they cover all my after market AV Equipment ( a lot dont)

No idea, they told me it was a lot to do with the underwriters, hence a lot of other companies stopping the cover.

Got the same reason from lots of them - so it must be legit.

I suppose its a large mod and does make it obvious to others. (maybe theyve had issues)

Want to stay in the good books as i dont like not being insured fully! Liek to know im all legal so no hassle from anyone.

Plus i want to be paid back everything if some t**t hits me or i stack it lol

Mine was insured with CIS, however they dont cover mods anymore. Cant see it being a problem with admiral, greenlight and adrian flux etc, but some companies wont touch you as they claim it changes the structure of your car.

daz- defo got a bargain if its got the catch and pre drilled holes, cant wait to see it!

well I'm going to ring my insurance tomorrow to see what they say, if I get the go ahead it should be fitted this weekend so pics to follow... ;)

  Chocolate Bar™
If you have problems try telling them its 'carbon covered' and not a carbon skin, which it prob is in all honesty, and then they'll have a job touching you for structural changes. Alternativly keep ringing until u get someone whos too dumb to realise what one is, and puts it on anyway

lol, cheers Mark :) As i said I'm with elephant who are mod-friendly so fingers crossed it wont be a problem.

Has, I have spoke to my insurance today and there is no charge for the carbon bonnet! :approve: so give them a bell mate to see what they come back with. I couldn't do mine online as I'm an existing customer, plus they didn't have the option for carbon bonnet on the online modification list.
