yeah ok this has been said 100000s of times and they are not currently on neither are the front bumper, wings, bonnet, headlights are in the side of some w*nkers car....

so back to the photo shop then.....

use the path tool to draw round the car, once done with the path tool selected right click and make selection. shift+ctrl+i to invert the selection, shift+ctrl+u to desaturate the background

^^^ beat me too it fella. Like rststevo says, use the above method. I find the magnetic pathfinder (lasso) quicker and easier tho. good stuff

I actually do it in a different way, i will copy the layer first, then desaturate, then use the laso tool to dealet anything you want in colour.

If you want to learn how to photoshop, i started off using www.digimods.co.uk have a look.

number1 rule about doing a decent photoshop though is take your time!

Cant agree more, i have been using photoshop for a good couple of years now, the more time you take the better the overall finsih will be,

Also you need to use hi res images 1200x800 will be fine, that way you can work on the image while zoomed in and the finish will look a lot smoother.

There is a forum on digimods which is really usefull once you have a bit more confidence, i have posted a few of my creations on there before.

guys thanks so much for all the help and info, will defo check out the site, and thanks for pics and the offers of more. great help as always!!
