Squeaking brakes...even when not applying the brakes?

Pads are moslt lily not settled properly and rattling about I bet you've used cheap copy cat pads as they arn't a good fit often.

:O no i havnt used cheap copy cat pads :-S because i havnt actually had the car much longer than 3 weeks... so if cheapo 1s are being used, i didnt put them there hehhee.

so u reckon i need to take out pads and check if theyve gone soapy from not being bedded in properly? good brand of pads to use? that arent £60 for a set?

Stock ones are only £17 from halfords and there fine.

Most likly there not sitting straight or worn.

You cannot bed normal brakes in wrong realy you can bed them in and not get the full advanatge though.

ah cool :) cheers for the help mate :)

are the 1s from halfords OE? or just Halfords 1s? :-S

there any sort of middle of the range ones? that are like £30ish? feel the 1s i have at the mo (which im assuming are OE?) dont react as well as i'd want

Didn't see you had a 182 if so forget Halfords Renault stock are fine maybe someone didn't put your anti rattle springs in (not that they do much) but if they arn't in they give the pad some space to rattle in.

~£40 from Renault last time I looked.

Stock are fine on the 182 the problem is the wheel don't let th brakes cool so the pads can crack and the fluid boil very quickly in use.
Best fix is to bleed the brakes new pads and gbetter wheels to let the brakes cool or better harder ds2500 pads fluid and lines and keep stock wheel but stock wheels are always going to be the problem. Harder pads lines etc are only trying to keep the braking working under heat longer before they boil the fluids etc under hard use.

sweet, cheers for the info :)

ah seems the DS2500 pads seem the 1s to go for then :) just hoping the wear rate isnt alot higher on them? coz dont wanna be changing them every month ahhaa.

Nope they last longer than stock about 50~100% more depends how you drive is a good estimate.
