early V6 Clio as a trackday car

  ZM Coupe Track Monster
Hello all,

Can anyone tell me what the V6 is like as a car for trackday fun?

are the standard brakes and suspension any good or will they need modding?

what sort of bhp figures do these cars put out with an induction kit/exhaust?

and does anyone make any diff mods for the car?

sorry for lots of questions!

cheers

Lee

Stock brakes arn't half bad uprated pads arn't that difficult since there racing calipers.

The Mk1 V6 ins't a good track car though its expensive heavy handling on the wet in particuly is bad even on the better phase 2 version the phase1 would be a very poor track car IMO.

Mods there a few bits out there. Depends what you want.

There a race team selling 2 V6 race cars with all there sapre theyre phase1's but modieifed not road legal but would be much better as there built more for the task caged up etc.

Hp won't be great the phase 2 manifold is the one you want modified but the gains still arn't huge unless you spend. Alos the gearbox is one of Renault worst boxes Renault specilast brokers have somehting like 2000 of them (there used in vans etc in other Renault etc) as the syncros and internals are all useless.

A 172 or 182 is not only cheaper but easier to drive you could make it just as fun just not as dangerous and its more usable.
