Car not starting

Last night, unused for about 24 hours. Turned key took steering lock off everything lights up but nothing.....No noise what-so-ever. Then phone rings, 3 minute conversation, turn key again and fires up as normal.........Any idea?

This happened to me the other day... it took me about 3-4 attemps to get it started. asked about it on this forum and apparently its a common problem, its something to do with the transponder ring ... around £40 quid to fix if it keeps happening !!!

was the immob light going out? if so perhaps a bit of a sticky starter?

If the red light doesn't go off when you tunr the key its means the imobiliser is still active. The most common problem is the transponder rignt which picks these signals up or the wiring to the plug are broken. Easy way to tell is to see if your other key has the same trouble if it does 995 of the time its the ring dead easy to change over its a small ring which goes over the ignition barrell.
