Tried using this guide to replace the cable on my CUP.

How the F**CK are you surpose to get to the cable by taking the wheel lining out.

Took wheel off and removed liner as stated but the cable is the other side of the servo and you would need hands the size of a small child to get behind it let alone remove it.

This must be the guide for a 1.2 and not a Sport.

Had to get to it by pulling the heat shield away and putting my hand down between it.

The hardest bit was pulling the old cable out of the bulk head.

Had to cut it out in the end.

Job done now and it was well worth it.

The clutch feels so smooth.

have you tried taking the battery and battery box out, I aint to clear on the location of the cables on them but my 1st instinct would be 2 strip it down from there!

Unclipping it from the clutch arm was easy to do (battery end).

It was getting to and removing the cable for the bulk head that was the problem.

There is no way you can replace it using this guild so anyone who reads this do do not waste your time trying.

Bullshit! Your not trying hard enough, I've done loads of these and hardly struggle. If your struggling to change the clutch cable luckily they've changed to hydraulic now for lazy b******s so your okay.

Don't follow this guide if are a girl/cry like a girl when your hands get cut up ;)

Changed my cable at the weekend and gave the pedal a good grease.

What a difference,no more creaking and its noticeably lighter.

I must however say that I tried using the guide on here and found it impossible to get to the cable by taking the wheel lining off.

As said the servo is in the way.

I read the threads on here and kept persisting but no joy.

Is the 172CUP different??
