1.2 16v downpipe question

burst my downpipe flexi today and needs replaced but not sure if its joined to the cat on the 1.2 or if its 2 seperate parts, anyone know?

It's 1 piece the flexi pipe and cat so you will have to change both unfortunetly. I think mine is leaking too does your make a sort of hissing then sucking noise?
Sports car breaker in Edinburgh have one think you would be looking at around £50 new would be £££

i have a spare cat here mate (and also one with the internals smashed out)

you can have them both for £70

am i right in thinking one with internals smashed out is effectively a decat but when the nasty MOT people look under the car it looks like theres still a cat

yeah but it'll fail its emissions test

there's no visual check for a CAT on an MOT anyway

i thought there was. What if you pass your emmisions test without the cat. I've been told a decat is a straigh forward fail

nope no visual check on the MOT, legally the car must have a CAT fitted, but if it passes its emissions test without a cat then you're fine

very unlikley to pass though
