As far as i know there is no drain point, you have to pull the offside hose from the bottom of the radiator and let it run out
The bleed screw is on this bit, it faces the air box (you'll have to remove it)

Ive done my 1.2 and need to do my 172 soon. First of all when engine is cold remove filler cap, need to bleed it by disconnecting the lower hose from the radiator and the bleed screw on the plenun chamber (as above). Bleed out all fluid. (at this point you could flush radiator out with a hose pipe through the top rad pipe), put the lower rad hose back on but not the bleed screw. Then refil via the expansion bottle upto the max mark until it runs from the screw, then close the screw, then run the engine until its warm making sure it doesnt go below the min mark while topping up coolant. Now stop the engine and put the cap back on the expansion bottle.

sorry to be a pain i really am reanult charge 39.99 to do this and i can do it myself then i will how much fluid do you need to replace from new and s step by step guide including locations of where everything is to do the drin would be great how much does new coolant cost? any special make required

Renault type D coolent is what you should use £30 or so it is.

To drain easy way is to unplug the lower rad hose and drain it out via there unplug the bleed nipple as well.

Then put them both in and fill system up use the bleed nipple to get it full properly.

Think my coolant was £15, getting the hose of the radiator is a right git to, why do you need to do it? I only did as i was replacing a split hose.

If you've had a new cambelt and waterpump it will have been done then, if you havn't had it done yet, i would as your car is 5 years old.

Might have been cannot be to sure.

Some people have it done early at 3 years or so. The problems years ago with broken engine made a lot of older people be quite protective about it.

i picked the car up last january and the rac report said the coolant was good for -21 had it checked this year and it is -17 so fingers crossed i am sure it will be ok for another year...does this mean to -17 the car will start no problem is that what its for? s**t who knows? i will defo get it done next year seems silly to have it done now hey?

What it means is the water won't freeze when water freezes it takes up a bit more space which means that when it freezes the water in the blcok cannot go anywhere so cracks the metal in the block since its weeker when cold so you'd come to your car the next day and it woulnd't work you'd need a whole new engine £1k bill.

What the reading measn si the coolebt you have in your car won't freeze till the temsp are down to xxx temperature so so long as temps don't drop that low it won't damage the engine.

Well you dont want that whatever the temperature is.

I sorted that out today. What a ball ache, dont have a hosepipe that would reach so had the run up nd down the stairs about 20+ times to get buckets of water to flush it all out.

  RARE Unmolested Corsa sxi
it raises the boiling point of water, as well as reducing the freezing point

Don't forget to mix your coolant in the correct ratio 60% coolant 40% water .

Pure anti freeze freezes at a higher temp than when its mixed 60/40.
