Std. exhaust v yozzasport

  A4 Avant
My backbox dropped off this morning on the way to work. Well so much for the cheap run about!!

The centre section also needs replacing from the cat back. So I'm now thinking of splashing out on a yozzasport full system and de-cat. Is the road version really as loud as some people have posted. I don't mind a bit of noise but I don't want it to sound like a chavved up mobile. I'd like to be able talk to passengers in the car without having to shout over the exhaust note.

So do I go for the full stainless steel system or put on a standard system again (which would work out cheaper I think)?

I'm based near birmingham if that influences anything.

i'd never get a standard system if the original system fell off, purely because for the same amount of money you can get a stainless jobbie with warranty.

I love my yozzasport not overly loud, and makes a gorgeous noise. everyoen who says it is loud is justa pussy :rasp:

Whats it like with normal driving though?

I don't mind it being noisier when I'm givin it beans, but I couldn't do with being sat in traffic or pootling round with it roaring away.

For me normal driving is fine, there is of course a difference but nothing to much, its when you put your foot down that you can't help but smile. Mine hasn't got de-cat so maybe with it i might feel different.

Yeah, loud exhausts should be banned. They are just an embarrassment on small cars with no power. Some t**t drives up my street everyday in a 1.4 Civic and I can hear it a mile away. He has to tickle the throttle in order to make as little noise as possible and then he boots it out of the village. I'm going to jam a melon in it one day! On the track, it's fine or on a V8 or something. Otherwise - I wouldn't! (Clio's included) Just my opinion

Nigel was that you who called me earlier??? So sorry, i forgot to ring you back!

Yeah it was me that phoned. Can you PM me details of when I could try and come pick one up.

Also in your opinion does the exhaust make the car to noisey during normal driving?

That's exactly the reason I love the Milltek on my R32 so much - and I see they have now released a full system for the 172. Could be worth a look.

only downside with the 172 system off milltek is that imo the pipes are too big and look a bit naff. but if they offered different tailpipes they'd be worth a look definetely.

^^^ Just had a quick butchers and agree, it looks wonky in the pics on their site to.

I don't see it being a problem asking Milltek to make whatever sort of tailpipe is required - having spent the day at their factory and had a system fitted by them I'm sure they can do the business.

What counts is whether the system itself is any good - I'd expect Yozza to have a good offering being as they know these cars well :)

Also as far as i'm aware none of the 172 yozza's have been fitted cut intp the bumper, that 182 one does sound nice.

Nope coz the miltek is amazing on the R32, esp the resonating one... The 172 system would just disappoint!

Yozzasport all the way!

Best ringing one of the lads mate...you'll get a quicker response as they aren't always around to answer PM's/emails.

Guess i'll phone em back in the morning to see when I can pick it up. Fingers crossed for this weekend! Just thought I'd get a fairly quick response seeing as the cash is here waiting to give them. They must be doing well! LOL!

just a quick bump. I'm about to place the order for the decat and exhaust. I'm still concerned about the noise though. Is it going to be bareable on the motorway and when idleing?

good luck! Its a quality item there is no doubt, but it aint for the faint hearted (especially decatted), but thats to my poofy ears ;)

I tried a Trophy with a Yozza cat back system and it was totally unbearable, there far to loud for daily use. Also check the quality, it isn't as great as everyone says.

  A4 Avant
Guess i'll find out 2mo. Luckily it's not a daily driver so not worried about that, just don't wanna wake the whole neighbourhood everytime I start it. I am a bit worried now.

The quality does look pretty good to be honest! There are a few dings on it here and there but most won't be visable when it's on the car.

they are only made by a prospeed type company?

corect me if i'm wrong

then go see your neighbours tonight, they are very loud, and if its a stealth system the sounds does deflect off the road quite badly.

Might be worth it, the Trophy I tried was a 'race car' loud in a built up area, when we got the owner to do a 'drive by'
